There is nothing worse than getting out of the shower and finding your mirror is steamed up. Trying to shave or brush your teeth is impossible with a mirror that is condensed. You can wipe it with your hand or with some toilet tissue but the mirror steams up again. That is the thing about a glass surface and a room with steam in the air. As soon as the steam touches the glass it obscures your vision.
All is not lost you can overcome the issue of a steamed up mirror.
Tip 1: Install lit bathroom mirrors that use mirror-warming technology to keep the mirror free from frog.
Tip 2: Invest a shower cubicle. A fully closed shower enclosure will keep the hot steam and water splash away from the outside of the cubicle, so the mirror will not steam up easily.
Tip 3: Install an extractor fan to remove the steam from your bathroom. The ventilation will disperse the steam quickly keeping the mirror fog-free.
Tip 4: Use a small squeegee. This may be the easiest way to keep your bathroom mirror clean, though the steam may instantly come back again.
Tip 5: From time to time you hear of household tips that are simple and not expensive. Here is one for you: Cover the mirror in shaving foam, liquid soap or toothpaste. Or a glycol based product.
- First clean your mirror.
- Then cover the entire mirror in a layer of the shaving foam.
- Let it dry, then wipe it all off with a dry paper towel or dry cloth.
- Your mirror should be free from steam for about 1 week at which stage you can reapply the mirror treatment to enjoy a steam free mirror.
