Bathroom Safety
Bathrooms are considered to be a 'special location' for electrical installations because they have an increased risk of electric shock for the users, due to the proximity of water. Our bathroom products are suitable for various ZONES. Please make sure that the bathroom product is suitalbe for its zone before installing it.

ZONE 1: the area around the bathtub or shower basin up to a height of 2.25m above the floor and at a radius of 1.2m from the water outlet. A minimum rating of IP44 is required. In this zone, if there is likelihood of water jets being used for cleaning purposes, a minimum of IP65 is required.
ZONE 2: is limited by the vertical planes external to zone 1 and parallel vertical plane (s) 0.60m external to zone 1. A minimum rating of IP44 is required.
ZONE 3: is limited to the vertical plane(s) external to zone 2 and the parallel vertical plane(s) 2.40m external to zone 2, where water jets are not to be used for cleaning purposes. No IP rating required.
- All our mirrors that have electrical wiring/lights are IP44 rated (zone 2 compatible).
- All our bathroom lighting has been designed to be fitted ABOVE our cabinets which means in all cases they are to be installed in zone 3.
- All our cabinets that have electrical wiring/lights are IP44 rated (zone 2 compatible).

If purchasing or purchased a cabinet with shaver points, you are advised to locate the shaver point in zone 3. The remaining part of the cabinet can be located in zone 2 should you be restricted on wall space. An example of shaver point location is detailed below.

General Information
- In most circumstances try to avoid fitting mirrors and cabinets near or above a source of heat such as a radiator.
- Supplementary to this make sure the product avoids common restrictions such as entrance doors.
- For safety reasons try to avoid fitting at low level.
- Always use non abrasive cleaning materials and avoid any acid based cleaners.
- Generally a chamois with tepid water is sufficent when cleaning the mirror face and any applicable surrounding areas.
- Please take care on how you install our products and ensure they are in the correct zones. Failure to comply with the information supplied may invalidate your guarantee.
